How to Take Care of Suede

Suede’s soft, textured finish gives it a distinctive look, but it does require extra care. Regular maintenance will keep your suede bag looking its best over time.

Storage Tips:

  • Apply a suede protection spray before first use and before wearing to help prevent stains and moisture damage.
  • Store in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight to prevent fading.
  • When not in use, stuff the bag with tissue paper to help it maintain its shape.
  •  Keep your suede bag in a dust bag for added protection.
  • Avoid storing in plastic, as it can trap moisture and damage the suede

Care and Maintenance Tips:

  • Always handle your suede bag with clean, dry hands to prevent unnecessary staining.
  • For everyday dust or light dirt, use a soft brush or gently wipe it away by hand.
  • Regular brushing helps maintain suede’s texture and keeps it feeling smooth andlooking fresh.
  • Avoid using the bag in wet or rainy conditions—moisture can cause staining and colour transfer, especially on lighter fabrics.
  • If the bag gets wet, blot gently with a clean cloth and allow it to air dry naturally.
    • Do not use direct heat or place it in sunlight to speed up drying.
    • Once dry, use a suede brush or soft toothbrush to gently restore the nap(texture).
  • It's normal for suede to shed small fibres over time. Use a suede brush to removeexcess fibres.
  • Reapply suede protector every 2–3 months to help guard against water damage andpreserve the texture.
  • For small marks, a suede eraser or a clean cloth can often do the trick. Avoid usingwater or regular cleaning products, as they may damage the surface.
  • If you’re ever unsure about how to clean it, it’s best to take it to a professional whospecialises in leather and suede care.
